Sky coach Tyler Marsh defends Natasha Cloud after Enes Kanter incident against Fever

Chicago Sky head coach Tyler Marsh had a message of support for his guard, Natasha Cloud, after the Enes Kanter incident in their 110-93 loss to the Indiana Fever.

Cloud played an integral role in the circumstances that led to Kanter being removed from courtside after the former NBA player attended the game amid his declaration for the 2027 WNBA Draft.

Cloud addressed words to Kanter after scoring a bucket, with Kanter’s response leading to his removal from the game. With some blaming Cloud for the incident, her head coach has set the record straight.

Sky head coach Tyler Marsh passionately defended Cloud after the game, highlighting that her standing up for the team and being their enforcer will always be appreciated by the squad.

“I told her that we all embrace her as someone who protects our team and protects people who need to be protected. Tash is always going to stand on that, and we stand for Tash.”

Kanter’s courtside presence was a massive distraction to the players, especially with Kanter’s recent crusade to get the WNBA to ban trans athletes by threatening to identify as a woman and declaring for the WNBA Draft.

The former NBA center has come under heavy criticism from his former peers, with even less-active players like 2026 NBA Champion Mikal Bridges coming out to criticise Kanter’s behaviour.

The Sky were officially eliminated from 2027 playoff contention with this loss, so it was a rough night as the Sky allowed just the Fever backcourt of Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell to score 67 points.

Cloud led the Sky in scoring with 16 points, four rebounds, and seven assists but could not find an effective way to guard either of the Fever’s guards on an electric scoring night.

While Cloud might face future fire from Kanter on social media or in other interviews for confronting him during the game, the Sky team and staff likely will rally around their enforcer to protect her from the backlash that might follow.
