Former Super Bowl champion David Carr has explained how Shedeur Sanders already looks better than last season.
The Cleveland Browns selected Sanders in the fifth round of last year’s draft and did not make him their starting quarterback at the start of the season.
However, the 24-year-old eventually worked his way into the starting lineup and showed some encouraging signs.
Carr has now seen some more development from Sanders in the Browns’ first preseason game against the Chicago Bears.

He completed six of his 11 passes for 79 yards, with no touchdowns and one interception. However, Carr was still impressed.
The former Houston Texans quarterback thinks Sanders showed more composure in the pocket than he did last season.
Carr explained: “For the most part, when I watched his feet and his eyes, and we talked about this with Jalen [Hurts] and the [Philadelphia] Eagles… are your eyes and feet matched up?
“He looked so much better in the pocket to me than he did last year…
“He’s going forward in the pocket. It’s a two-yard play, but last year that might have been a 20-yard loss. I just love that he’s climbing in the pocket. That’s brilliant. That’s so good for a young guy…
“I watched him from this year to last year. It’s night and day to me. He looks really good in the pocket. He looks really comfortable.”
It looks as though Sanders is competing with Watson for the starting QB role, and the latter probably had a better game.
