Odell Beckham Jr. left some sort of an impression on New York Giants head coach John Harbaugh as he tries to cement his place on the Giants roster for the season. However, he entered the preseason game against the Minnesota Vikings with just over six minutes remaining in the first half and didn’t have a lot of time to prove himself.
John Harbaugh spoke to the media after the game about Beckham Jr.’s performance, and found that he was good in some areas, but still had room for improvement.
“I thought he looked pretty good, you know, he looked pretty good, made a couple catches, you know, did some things, some things he could have done better. He’ll be the guy, first guy to tell you that, you know, but I thought he looked solid, I would say”, Harbaugh said.
“That was fun. I mean, you know, I love him though. I do. He’s, what he’s doing, what he’s fighting for, you know, I don’t know how it’s going to turn out. It’s going to turn out the way, the way it turns out, you know, based on what happens,” Harbaugh said about Beckham Jr. joining the Giants roster for good.
Odell Beckham Jr. Talks About His PerformanceOdell Beckham Jr. seemed decently happy with his own display from the preseason clash with the Vikings.
“I feel good being out there,” Beckham said to the media.
“I feel, you know, when you see the tape or at practice, I’m getting open. But at the end of the day, a receiver always talks about this as the most selfless position on the field.
“You, you wait around all game for everybody to do their job just for five opportunities maybe. So when they do come their way, you gotta make the most of them. And, today it was light.”
Despite the comments, there is no guarantee that Beckham will make the 53-man roster for the Giants this season.
