MOBILE, Ala (WKRG) – The South Alabama Jaguars will be a part of a college basketball series in Pensacola this upcoming season.
Pensacola teen recovering from wreck that killed her girlfriendAccording to a USA team release, the Jaguars will face the Loyola Marymount Lions in the Coastal Classic at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12, at the Pensacola Bay Center, located at 201 East Gregory Street.
The series is one of three games announced on Tuesday, Aug. 25, as part of the Pensacola Hardwood Series.
This game will be the second time that the Jaguars and the Lions will meet. South Alabama previously defeated LMU 81-80 on Nov. 28, 2005, in Los Angeles, California.
"We're excited for the opportunity to play in the Coastal Classic," South Alabama head coach Richie Riley said. "Being able to play at the Pensacola Bay Center gives our guys a chance to compete at our conference tournament venue against a very good opponent. It should also be a fun opportunity for our fans to make the short trip over to Pensacola and support us."
The Jaguars are coming off a 2025-2026 season, where they finished with an overall record of 21-12 and an 11-7 record in Sun Belt play. South Alabama is also coming off its first season since 2007 in which it played in a postseason game.
