The Kings rode on Mishara’s unbeaten 108 off just 55 balls, featuring 10 fours and seven sixes, to post 242-2 in 20 overs - the highest total in LPL history. They bettered their own record of 240 against Dambulla Aura in Pallekele, which came in 2022.
Galle Gallants also responded strongly in the run chase, scoring 228 to lose by just 14 runs. Their total was the fourth-highest of all time in the tournament history. The two innings, followed by Colombo Kaps' 203 in the Eliminator, took the number of 200+ scores this LPL season to 13 so far, the most in a single edition.

Jaffna Kings storm into the final with the winAs far as Qualifier 1 is concerned, apart from Mishara, Khawaja Nafay and Towhid Hridoy also starred with the bat for the Kings, scoring 54 runs each. Hridoy was exceptional, in particular, scoring those runs off just 21 deliveries to power the Kings to a record total.
The Galle Gallants weren’t too far behind in the run chase either. They rode on Sam Harper’s 44 off 21 to score 81 runs in the powerplay. However, they kept losing wickets at regular intervals and fell short by 14 runs.
The Gallants will next face the Colombo Kaps, who defeated Kandy Royals by 68 runs in the Eliminator, in Qualifier 2 on Friday, August 7. The winner of this clash will face the Jaffna Kings in the final on Saturday, August 8.
