Steve Smith Sr. has high hopes for Kansas City Chiefs player Cyrus Allen, but not every fan agreed with the former NFL man’s take.

The Chiefs get their pre-season underway this weekend, and it will be interesting to see how they fare after a poor 2025/26 campaign.

They finished the normal season with a record of 6-11, but have since made some changes to their team, including securing Cyrus Allen in the latest NFL draft earlier this year.

Now, in a recent interview, Smith has suggested that Allen has the ability to go on and become the Chiefs’ number one wide receiver.

He said: “Cyrus Allen is going to be eventually, in my humble opinion….their number one Wide Receiver.”

There were some fans who agreed with what Smith had to say about the 23-year-old.

One fan responded: “It sure seems that way. You can tell he just moves different than anybody we have, and Pat knows it.”

Another wrote: “He knows —– ball,” with a third agreeing: “This man might know of what he speaks….”

A fourth replied: “—- right Steve,” but while a number of fans agreed with Smith’s prediction, there were some who questioned the former NFL star.

One claimed: “Steve Smith thinks every small receiver is gonna be special. Guy thought Skyy Moore would be an All-Pro.”

A second added: “My dawg normally right but that’s not gonna be this season.”

Another echoed: “He also said Skyy Moore was legit,” while a fourth stated: “Steve has been off a lot lately. Says a lot of nothing.”
