Studs and duds from Titans' 19-16 victory over Seahawks

The Tennessee Titans, led by their backups, came back to defeat the Seattle Seahawks 19-16 to win their second preseason game of 2026.

Playing a vanilla scheme, the Seahawks shredded the Titans’ first-team defense for two big-play touchdowns, which set the tone for the evening. Cam Ward’s statistics were better, but he must settle in quicker and stay on time. The Titans still have a lot of things to smooth out before the season starts, and this was a rough outing by the starters on both sides of the ball.

As always in an uneven game, here are some studs and duds from the second preseason game of 2026.

With Nick Singleton and Kalel Mullings sidelined, Chestnut got some early snaps and took advantage of them. Chestnut ran hard and was decisive, finishing with seven carries for 48 yards, and proved to be a solid receiving option, adding three receptions for 24 yards.

By all accounts, Winston has been one of the highlights of training camp, but that didn’t carry over into this preseason game. Winston blew the coverage on the opening series that gave Seattle a quick 37-yard touchdown. Winston must be better for the Titans’ defense and help solidify the back end.

Robinson has been the Titans' most consistent receiver on the outside and appears to have a solid chemistry with Cam Ward. While he only pulled in two receptions for 12 yards, he was always open and could have been targeted all night. Now, if Tennessee could just see another receiver step up with the first team.

Barton had another rough outing in the second preseason game and looks slow in coverage. On top of that, he was out of position on the Seahawks' long touchdown run. Barton did finish with two tackles, but he must be better and help set the tone for the defense.

The Titans traded up in the second round to draft Hill, and the rookie linebacker looks fluid in coverage and plays sideline to sideline. While he isn’t currently in the starting lineup, it doesn’t look like it will take long for him to get there. He finished his second preseason game with seven tackles, an interception, and a half sack, and has the look of an impact linebacker

Tate again came up empty in his second preseason game, and has not shown the ability to consistently gain separation. Tonight he had two more targets, but has yet to pull in his first NFL catch in a game. He has looked great in practice, but he has failed to see that translate into game success.

Ward improved statistically, completing 8-of-12 passes for 69 yards in his three series, including one scoring drive. But he looked shaky and was inaccurate. He also had one careless fumble that lost some critical yards and derailed what looked like a promising drive.
