Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ quarterback plans for their preseason finale against the Jacksonville Jaguars have reportedly taken shape, with rookie Jalon Daniels set to get an extended opportunity.
According to the latest update from Tampa Bay Times reporter Rick Stroud, Daniels is expected to start against Jacksonville and play the first half, with the possibility of featuring for longer.

“Bucs plan to start rookie QB Jalon Daniels and play him the first half and maybe more tonight vs. Jacksonville. He will be followed by Jake Browning and Connor Bazelak. Daniels is making legit run at No. 2,” Stroud wrote.
The update gives Daniels a significant opportunity as he continues to make his case for the No. 2 quarterback role.
Browning is also part of the competition, while Bazelak is expected to see his opportunity after the rookie.
Daniels has now been handed the chance to make an even stronger impression before the Buccaneers make their decisions on the quarterback room.
With the preseason finale against the Jaguars approaching, Daniels’ extended playing time could prove important as he looks to strengthen his case for the backup role.
