Rejoice, Carolina Panthers fans! Your long nightmare at tight end may finally be over.
As announced on Monday morning, the Panthers have signed tight end Darren Waller. The 33-year-old now joins the reigning NFC South champs ahead of the 2026 campaign, a season after his comeback to the NFL.
Waller retired in June of 2024, but returned in 2025—where he posted 24 receptions for 283 yards and six touchdowns in nine games for the Miami Dolphins. While the 2020 Pro Bowler might be past his prime, he is instantly the best pass-catching tight end on the Panthers roster—and perhaps the best they've had since the days of Greg Olsen.
