Tennessee Titans to be featured on Hard Knocks: Training Camp

On Sunday, the Tennessee Titans hosted the Seattle Seahawks for their second preseason game in 2026. Before that, the two teams held a joint practice on Friday, giving both teams extra exposure to facing an opponent ahead of the regular season.

The Seahawks are the subject of NFL Films’ Hard Knocks: Training Camp series in 2026, the first time a reigning Super Bowl champion has been featured on the series. When episode four airs on Tuesday, August 25, at 8 p.m. CST, the Titans will be featured as part of the Seahawks’ training camp series. NFL Films director Pat Harris sat down with TitansWire to discuss the upcoming episode.

Harris mentioned how different it was to have a joint practice versus not having one. Because of that practice, the NFL Films crew was in Nashville for a few days, rather than arriving, playing the next day, and leaving again, something he said to look for when viewing the episode.

“We get actually a lot of Nashville in there," Harris said. “Which is kind of fun. I think that’s a nice thing about a joint practice is we get a little time as the crew, but just to be able to film in the city that we’re in. So we took it upon ourselves to do some different shoots throughout Nashville to hopefully showcase the city; it was a lot of fun to be there.”

Seattle’s goal in 2026 is to prove that their Super Bowl season wasn’t the end of the story. Sam Darnold is no longer an underdog, and his down-to-Earth mentality keeps him focused on the next goal: Continue winning games.

Darnold didn’t play against the Titans on Sunday, but the Titans played Cam Ward for three series before ending his day. When talking about Ward, we wanted to know what was something Harris noticed about Ward’s play that we might not necessarily see on TV. His answer? “The ability to throw from all different arm angles definitely stood out to me. I think no matter what was in his face, I feel like it was constantly getting the ball out at all different planes.”

Harris spent a lot of time with the Seahawks defense, so he saw quite a bit of Cam Ward, especially during the joint practice. He noted he was impressed with Ward’s ability to adjust no matter which guys were in his face. The quarterback position isn’t an easy one. The expectations are high, and with Brian Daboll in Ward’s ear this season, his performance will be that much better.

So, with all of Harris’ experience with NFL Films and the various projects he’s worked on for the company, we had to ask: what is something no one ever talks about that is worth mentioning?

“I think with how smart football players are,” Harris said. “I’ve kind of been a big proponent that with their attention to detail, and how well they know their craft, still blows me away. I think they speak almost like a different language to the outside person when they’re talking about play calls or defensive calls, and just their attention to detail with every little thing.”

One of the things NFL teams test their players on ahead of the NFL draft is their football IQ. It's especially important for quarterbacks, but every player that wants to play in the NFL has to prove that their knowledge of the game can keep up with how things work at the next level. Athletes aren’t often looked at as brainiacs, but to play in the NFL at the most elite level? Don’t underestimate how smart these guys are.
