The Texans signed kicker Chris Freeman on Wednesday to have him kick in Friday's preseason game. He kicked an extra point in the team's 27-7 loss to the Chargers.
The team waived Freeman on Friday.
Freeman is an undrafted free agent who played four college seasons at Indiana and two at Connecticut. In the past two seasons in Storrs, he made all 101 extra points and 43-of-52 field goals, with his 82.7 percent accuracy and 230 points leading the nation.
Ka'imi Fairbairn is the Texans' kicker.
