DJ WALLER #12
Height: 6’3”
Weight: 210lb
Position: DB
Class: Senior
Hometown: Youngstown, OH
Summary: The Cards welcome DJ to the mix in 2026 coming over from the “other school down the road” where he made a pit stop for a season or two and then hurt his hamstring in 2025…thanks Stoops.
Before joining those guys DJ was a part of (checks notes) a National Championship team in the 2023 Michigan Wolverines where he appeared in eleven games for the Maize and Blue. Waller comes in because of his preexisting relationships in the program, but was excited about playing under Steve Ellis, who now co-leads the defense overall. Waller has a good frame and arm length to break up passes and create disruption at the second level. Waller is the projected starter opposite Halloway at corner if the season started today, and I like the fact that Ellis and Ivey will use players like Waller to be aggressive behind the line as well. Using a 200+ pound corner in blitz packages is a nice little shakeup for the offense, and creates “havoc” up front, something they want to do a lot of this year. Welcome aboard, DJ….here’s hoping some of fresh new mixes involve sacks and interceptions.
