good morning everyone!
What a win, huh? It felt good to demolish an opponent again. Dustin did a terrific job with the post-match takeaways but I want to do a quick hit of fitzie’s own:
- A Ben Davies goal! Who cares if it was off a deflection? The man’s put in 13 years at the club and deserves all the positives. Plus, he captained the side until Micky van de Ven came on in the second half.
- What a debut for Savio! I hope the picture of him holding up the Tottenham flag will remain stored in the Spurs library.
- Charlton have pretty neat kits. Let’s not lose sight of that:

— Charlton Athletic FC (@CAFCofficial) August 26, 2026It’s not Spurple, but it is Spurple adjacent. And I think we can all get behind that. This is actually their third kit, which is what you’d get if you turn a wild berry poptart into a football shirt.
I think Charlton’s crest typically looks a bit clunky, so I love the standalone sword here. It’s a wonderful kit to wear in the Championship.
And I’m excited for the Spurple kit to make its own debut this season – but the question is, When?
