Luka Doncic recently went viral during the Los Angeles Lakers’ roster trip to Slovenia for how fit he looks, but Colin Cowherd isn’t impressed and he thinks no one should be.
There have been questions asked about the shape Luka Doncic is in throughout his entire career. Despite being a nearly perennial All-NBA First Team pick, the Slovenian star has at times appeared a tad overweight.
He appeared on the cover of Men’s Health magazine last offseason, with the NBA world taking note of his trimmed down physique. This summer, it has gone to another level.
Doncic recently flew all his new teammates out to Slovenia for a Los Angeles Lakers team-bonding trip. Fans noted he was slimmer than ever in photos, but one sports analyst isn’t too impressed.

While most would think being in shape is not something that could be criticised, Cowherd has found a way.
Speaking on his show recently, the fiery sports personality addressed all the conversation around Luka. And one of his issues is exactly that there is such a big conversation about the LA star’s fitness levels.
“When I see a picture of him slimmed down, and people are buzzing,” Cowherd said. “Guys, that’s the baseline… This is what a pro athlete should look like.
“We shouldn’t be buzzing every other year. ‘Huh, put him on Men’s Health.’ He’s a pro athlete. Gotta just stay in shape.
“This should not be a big story. The last 4 years Luka has played fewer games than 41-year old LeBron James… That’s not good.”
Cowherd has a point, but it seems absurd to think fans will not praise their star for clearly putting in the work he needs to. One thing is for sure, whatever weight he may be at, Luka remains unstoppable on the court.
