The Kansas City Chiefs opened up the 2026 season on Saturday afternoon, hosting the visiting Los Angeles Rams in some NFL preseason action. The home team came up short this time out, falling 20-12. Kansas City played three quarterbacks -- none of which were Patrick Mahomes as he comes off of a season-ending knee injury last year -- but star tight end Travis Kelce didn't see any action.
This will be Kelce's 14th NFL season, and he's returning after a big off-season in his personal life.
Kelce sported a new accessory on his walk into the stadium: a custom gold band. The three-time Super Bowl winner married pop star Taylor Swift over the fourth of July weekend, hosting an extravagant-yet-private wedding at Madison Square Garden. The couple invited friends, family and some of the biggest names in music, television, movies and sports.
