Good Tuesday morning, TSFers! No, today’s CF is not about that singles bar downtown — every city has a “Rumors” bar, right? Today (this week, really) will be one for transfer news as the window draws closer to closing. We’ve got a week left. Deadline Day is September 1st. Next Tuesday. The Champions League draw is on Thursday, too. The season has spun back up, folks! Matchweek 1 finished up action yesterday.

Fulham 2 – Chelsea 3
The Cottagers have got some fight to ‘em. Chelsea have an excellent attack and big question marks at the back. Robert Sanchez is still a disaster in goal for the Blues. Fulham had opportunities to nab the draw but couldn’t convert them. I don’t think we really learned much about either side from this one.

We’ll be watching the Gabriel Martinelli transfer space of the next couple of days. It seems as if he’s headed to Al-Hilal. It looks like he’ll be joined by Ollie Watkins, too. Arsenal are still being linked with a move for Julian Alvarez. I presume the clubs would use the funds from selling the Brazilian to help take a big swing at the Argentine. The Gunners still have tinkering to do around the edges of the squad — Gabriel Jesus, Reiss Nelson, and Fabio Vieira all need their moves sorted. I’m getting a bit less confident Gabby J goes, though.

In non-football news, Pluto was downgraded from planet status on this day in history. Twenty years ago. That’s the loudest and most violent headline I’ve come across in a while. I think my back may have gone out from reading it.
