UFC welterweight champion Islam Makhachev is set to make the first defense of his 170-pound title in a showdown against Ian Machado Garry at UFC 330 on Saturday in Philadelphia.

Makhachev enters the octagon boasting a record of 28 wins and just 1 loss across two weight classes. In his most recent bout, Makhachev faced Jack Della Maddalena in December 2025, claiming a unanimous decision in a five-round fight to secure the welterweight championship.

Garry enters the contest with a record of 17 wins and just a single loss, which came at the hands of Shavkat Rakhmonov in December 2024. Since that defeat, Garry has bounced back with consecutive unanimous-decision wins against Carlos Prats and, most recently, Belal Muhammad.
