North Carolina has secured an official visit from blue-chip prospect Asa Montgomery, who included the Tar Heels in an extensive eight-school tour beginning next week.

Montgomery, a 6-foot-7 wing from the Atlanta area, is scheduled to visit Chapel Hill on Sept. 25. His itinerary kicks off at LSU on Aug. 28, followed by Florida (Sept. 4), UConn (Sept. 11), Providence (Sept. 18), Duke (Oct. 2), Arizona (Oct. 16), and Louisville (Oct. 30). He previously completed an official visit to Auburn.

The scholarship offer from UNC head coach Michael Malone arrived last month during a breakout Peach Jam performance. Montgomery averaged 22 points and seven rebounds during the event, punctuating a stellar AAU season that yielded 18 high-major offers. In EYCL play, he recorded 27.9 points per game on 54% shooting, adding 10.2 rebounds and 3.3 combined steals and blocks.

Montgomery is the second senior to finalize a fall official visit to UNC, joining Darius Wabbington, who is slated to visit in late October. The Tar Heels have extended offers to 13 players in the current class, focusing heavily on versatile forwards.
