Dual-threat quarterbacks have become quite common in college football, and now the Wisconsin Badgers have one themselves.
Colton Joseph came over from Old Dominion, where he set the world on fire. Joseph could potentially play each of his final two years in Madison, and that gives head coach Luke Fickell some stability that he desperately needs.
Joseph goes against everything Wisconsin wanted to do when they switched to an air-raid style offense a few years ago. Thankfully, that offense seems to be in the past, and now Joseph can help carry the load in a new run-heavy approach that will be headlined by Iowa State transfer running back Abu Sama.
When it comes to Joseph's game, there isn't much the 6-foot-2 QB can't do, "He played way better than I thought he would play," an anonymous coach who played Joseph last season told ESPN's Adam Rittenberg.
"We knew he could clearly run, but I thought against us, man, he threw some really nice balls, did a hell of a job making the right decisions. I will not be surprised to see him have a good year in the Big Ten," they added.
Wisconsin's schedule gives Joseph no time to waste as they play Notre Dame in Week 1, but remember, Old Dominion played Indiana in last year's season opener, and the Hoosiers went on to win the National Championship.
