The Minnesota Vikings struck gold when they drafted Justin Jefferson out of LSU in 2020. The team nearly missed out on him when the Philadelphia Eagles went wide receiver just before them, but as they say, the rest is history. For Jefferson, in his six seasons in the NFL, he has made it a point to be one of the best players, regardless of position.
However, with recent rankings being completed, Jefferson has seen his reputation as one of the best at his position fall off a bit. In a recent interview with The Athletic's Mike Silver, Jefferson admitted he knows he isn't considered to be the best wide receiver in the NFL, but he is ready to change that.
He said, “Not yet. But they will (know) after this year —I’ll tell you that.”
Jefferson has averaged 1,413 receiving yards per season, with his career high coming in 2022, when he racked up 1,809. Replicating that production with a new quarterback in Kyler Murray would go a long way toward reminding people what he is capable of.
