TOPEKA (KSNT) — A hot start to the season for the Ichabods.
The No. 8 Washburn volleyball team is off to a 3-0 start on the season, picking up two wins on Friday.
Washburn opened the day with a sweep (25-21, 25-19, 25-19) over Arkansas Tech.
Emma Siron paced the Ichabods with 17 kills, followed by Brynne Topolski with 11. Taylor Rottinghaus and Shannon Frakes had 11 digs each in game one.
Washburn then followed up in game two of the day, beating William Jewell College 3-1 (17-25, 25-12, 25-15, 25-8).
Brooklyn Morrisey led the pack with 12 kills, while Brynn Topolski picked up 11. Avery Willey had 17 digs in game two, while Autumn Gibbs had 11.
