Brooks Cameron needed just three words to describe what was going through his mind when he approached the plate in the seventh inning of Phenix City's second elimination game in the Little League World Series.
"Hit the ball," he told ESPN reporter Jess Sims.
He did exactly that.
Cameron ripped an RBI-single up the middle to secure a 6-5 walk-off win for Phenix City over the West Chester, Pennsylvania All-Stars, keeping Alabama's first Little League World Series appearance since 1999 alive. After dropping its opener game against Washington, every game in the LLWS is win-or-go-home for Phenix City.

Getting to Cameron's winning swing required a comeback first. Phenix City fell behind 5-0 through three innings before battling its way back once Kinley Rasmus took over on the mound, a rally Cameron credited to "energy in the dugout."
Hugs and cheers met Urijah Berklite when he crossed home plate for the winning run. Cameron, too, whose helmet came off as teammates mobbed him, revealing a head of bleach-blonde hair that matched a handful of Phenix City players like Berklite wrapping him in celebration.
Naturally, Cameron was still caught up in the excitement for his postgame interview, nearly speechless as he tried to put the victory into words.
His bat had already said enough anyways.
Phenix City plays again at 2 p.m. CT Tuesday, Aug. 25 for another elimination game against Game 1 opponent Washington.
