Former Texas A&M wide receiver KC Concepcion was selected 24th overall by the Cleveland Browns in the 2026 NFL Draft, and after leading the Aggies with 919 yards and 9 touchdowns, combined with 456 punt return yards and 2 touchdowns during his lone season in College Station, it was no wonder the wide receiver-needy Browns were beyond excited to land the versatile playmaker.
After making his impressive preseason debut against the Chicago Bears, where he scored his first touchdown off an impressive 14-yard run, paired with 3 receptions for 27 yards, Concepcion has dominated nearly every practice, making quarterbacks Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders, who are in a heated battle, look pretty dang good thanks to the rookie's elite speed and agility, while his hands have improved making several impressive grabs.
Right now, Concepcion is in line to become the Browns' No. 1 wide receiver, likely starting in the slot given his ability after the catch and crisp route running. During Thursday's scrimmage vs. the Buffalo Bills, Concepcion continued to stand out as the team's top playmaker, making a diving catch off a solid pass down the seam from Deshaun Watson.
The proverbial "drumbeat" for Concepcion is so loud you can hear it from space, and first-year head coach Todd Monken stated the obvious for Aggie and North Carolina State fans familiar with Concepcion's love of the game, stating, "He doesn't blink. He just loves playing football, man ... That's why he's a first-round pick."
With less than a month remaining before the regular season begins, the Cleveland Browns aren't expected to do much this season, but if the quarterback situation actually finds some consistency, who knows?
