Exactly one month before the regular season opener, the Green Bay Packers kick off their preseason schedule on Thursday, Aug. 13.
And it's as marquee of a preseason game as there can be, with the Packers heading to Pittsburgh to play Aaron Rodgers, Mike McCarthy and the Steelers.
Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. at Acrisure Stadium.
It's the first of three exhibition contests this month for the Packers as preparations for the 2026 season ramp up, with the team finally going from the practice field to game action.
Coach Matt LaFleur said earlier this week that he plans to play the starters in the early going but he reserves the right to change his mind. Last year, the Packers had a miserable and sloppy preseason opener with the starters playing briefly.

McCarthy, who spent 13 years in Green Bay and won a Super Bowl with Rodgers as his quarterback, is in his first year as the Steelers head coach.
Now, he's reunited with Rodgers in the quarterback's final season in the NFL. It isn't clear if Rodgers, in his second season with the Steelers, will play against the Packers. Rodgers, 42, didn't play in the preseason last year.
