The 2026-27 high school sports season has begun, and Fayetteville-area athletes are already making noise on the field or court.
With the football season approaching its opening kickoff this Friday, Aug. 21, boys' soccer and volleyball highlight the eight nominees in the beginning-of-the-year 910Preps Athlete of the Week poll.
Voting is open and will close on Friday, Aug. 21, at noon; the winner will be announced later Friday.
