Who won the 49th annual Calhoun County Golf Championship?

BATTLE CREEK - The trophy for the best golfer in the county won't be staying in the county this year.

Lansing's Trevor Raymond beat all the local golfers to take first at the 49th annual Calhoun County Amateur Golf Championship on Sunday, Aug. 16 at Binder Park Golf Course in Battle Creek.

"This is a great tourney to win," Raymond said. "There is good competition around here. They are good players and they are guys who play here a lot. So they are good players and they know the course. So I feel a little lucky to get this."

Raymond shot a 69 in the second round to come from four shots behind the leader to put together a two-day score of 141 to win the 2026 Cal-Am tourney.

"I kept it in play off the tee today, which is important on this course. I hit a couple foul balls yesterday," Raymond said. "Coming in, I figured I would have to shoot 66 or 65 to even have a chance, but the leaders came back to me a little bit."

Brandon Grube led after the first round on Saturday and shot a 76 on Sunday to finish second overall at 144. There was a three-way tie for third place at 145 with Jack Kyger, Paul Koski and defending champ Chris Voegler.

Voegler was going for his third straight Cal-Am crown.

"It would have been cool to win three in a row, but I'll take third place," Voegler said.

John Blasius defended his title in the Senior Division with a 143 to finish first with Tony Evans as a runner up at 144. Roy Tooke and Dale Choma tied for third at 150.

Mike Kwasny won the Super Senior Division at 143. After his son Trevor won the overall title, Mike Raymond was runner up in the Super Senior Division at 146.
