Who Won the NASCAR Race Today? Ryan Blaney Goes Back-to-Back at New Hampshire

Ryan Blaney did it again at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

One year after winning at the 1.058-mile track, Blaney returned Sunday and delivered another victory, taking the checkered flag in the NASCAR Cup Series race at New Hampshire for his third win of the 2026 season.

Blaney had already made his presence felt by winning Stage 2, but the defending New Hampshire winner finished the job when it mattered most. Bubba Wallace crossed the line second, with Josh Berry third, Christopher Bell fourth and Kyle Larson completing the top five.

Ty Gibbs finished sixth, followed by Denny Hamlin, Tyler Reddick, Ryan Preece and Noah Gragson.

It was a statement afternoon for Blaney at a track that has quickly become one of his best. And after a day that began with wet-weather tires and an unpredictable track, the No. 12 Team Penske Ford was the car out front when it counted.

The road to the checkered flag was hardly straightforward.

Rain had been the dominant storyline before Sunday ever arrived. NASCAR moved the scheduled start of the race from 3 p.m. to 2 p.m. ET earlier in the week because of the forecast, but persistent rain Sunday morning and early afternoon still complicated matters.

The field eventually rolled off on Goodyear wet-weather tires, and conditions remained tricky from the start.

Polesitter Tyler Reddick spun on the opening lap, while Carson Hocevar later spun during the pace laps as rain intensified and NASCAR halted the field on pit road for additional track-drying efforts.

Once the race settled in, Larson emerged as the early standout.

The Hendrick Motorsports driver won Stage 1 after leading 14 of the opening 70 laps. Bell finished the stage second, followed by Hocevar, William Byron and Berry.

Blaney, meanwhile, was sixth.

By Stage 2, the No. 12 had moved to the front.

Blaney won the second stage ahead of Berry and Wallace, collecting his series-leading seventh stage victory of the season. Preece finished fourth in the stage, with Larson fifth.

That put Blaney squarely in position for the final run, and he ultimately converted that speed into the result that mattered most.

Blaney delivers his third win of the 2026 NASCAR season

Blaney’s latest New Hampshire victory gives him three wins this season and another major result as the Cup Series regular season reaches its conclusion.

Wallace’s runner-up finish capped an impressive afternoon of his own after he finished third in Stage 2. Berry was another fixture near the front throughout the race, following a fifth-place result in Stage 1 with second in Stage 2 before ultimately taking third at the checkered flag.

Bell entered the weekend still searching for his first victory of the season despite seven runner-up finishes. New Hampshire appeared to offer one of his best opportunities to finally break through considering his history at the track, and he again ran near the front throughout the afternoon. But his fourth-place finish extended the wait for that elusive first victory.

Larson rounded out the top five after winning the opening stage.

The race also brought a devastating development for Ross Chastain.

Chastain entered New Hampshire 18th in the standings and fighting to keep his Chase hopes alive, but his No. 1 Trackhouse Racing Chevrolet suffered a drivetrain problem early in the race. He completed just 41 laps before heading to the garage and became the race’s first retirement.

The failure eliminated Chastain from Chase contention before the regular-season finale at Daytona.

For Blaney, there was no such disappointment.

New Hampshire belonged to him again.

And with the regular season down to one final race, the No. 12 team leaves Loudon with another trophy and its third victory of 2026.
