Why Atletico Madrid has not fully opened the door to selling Juventus target

Juventus want to sign Alexander Sorloth in this transfer window, and the striker would love the move, while Atletico Madrid would not reject a good offer.

However, so far, nothing has advanced, as the Spanish side waits and has also not pushed for him to leave during this window. He is an important member of their squad and has worked well for them in recent seasons, continuing to show that he is one of the top players in the group.

Much of the focus this summer has been on the ongoing Julian Alvarez saga, and that is one reason Sorloth has not found a new home or changed clubs. Atletico Madrid have therefore continued to keep him within their squad while they assess how the situation surrounding Alvarez develops.

In the final days before the transfer window closes, that could change as Juventus want Sorloth to become their next striker signing. The Bianconeri appear keen to complete the move, while the player’s willingness to join them could help negotiations progress.

With Atletico Madrid also interested in signing Nicolas Gonzalez, both clubs probably still have some business to do this summer. Sorloth’s situation could therefore become clearer as the transfer deadline approaches.

According to Alfredo Pedulla, the reason Atletico Madrid have not opened the door for Sorloth to leave is the ongoing Alvarez saga, as they remain unsure whether the Argentine will stay.

That uncertainty has made it difficult for Atletico to make a definitive decision regarding Sorloth. While they would not reject a good offer for the striker, they also have little reason to push him out while Alvarez’s future remains unresolved.

For Juventus, this means patience could be required, although there is still time for the situation to change before the transfer window closes. If they continue to insist on signing Sorloth, the Spanish side may eventually consider allowing him to leave.

Sorloth’s preference for the move also gives Juventus reason to remain hopeful. With the Alvarez situation still developing, the striker’s future could become one of the matters to resolve in the final days of the window.
