Why Is August 13 So Important in Chivas Femenil History?

A true Chivahermano's calendar has several dates marked well in advance because of the unforgettable memories Club Guadalajara has given us. Today is certainly one of them, as it marks the day we first saw two true Chivas Femenil legends officially represent the team they love.

Ahead of the Apertura 2020, Alicia Cervantes and Carolina Jaramillo arrived to make history with the Rebaño. On the border, in Matchday 1, both players started in Guadalajara's emphatic 0-4 victory over Bravas de Juárez.

The Chiverío legends showed their quality from the very first minute at Estadio Olímpico Benito Juárez. First, the 'Comandante' played a role in the opening goal, delivering a set-piece cross that struck the post and led to an own goal by Melissa Sosa.

Then it was the 'Depredadora' who raised her hand to begin her scoring history with Chivas Femenil. In the 34th and 49th minutes, she scored her first two goals for the club: first by sending a shot across the goalkeeper and later with a header inside the box that sealed the Guadalajara victory.

Today, as we celebrate the sixth anniversary of that unforgettable moment, every time 'Caro' and 'Licha' take possession of the ball, we still get excited. We know there is not only a strong possibility that the play will end in a goal, but that their understanding can very likely produce another moment that will live forever in our memories.
