Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder says the club are currently focused on the loan and free agent market as they look to strengthen his squad before the transfer window closes.
United have a bid in place for Leicester City defender Harry Souttar, but Wilder suggested that deal is now unlikely.
“The situation at present is that we’re looking in the loan market and I will continue to do that. And if that changes, then that changes,” Wilder said.
“And then we’ll look at a different group of players. There’s a bid in there for Harry Souttar. I should imagine that that’ll stay there.
“But I’m looking to add, as we’ve talked about, to replace Gus (Hamer). And to maybe add one or two more to the group, which I think we need.
“I think everybody understands that and sees that. Our supporters, coaches and myself. And we’re working away tirelessly. I’ve been open and upfront with that.”
