Wrexham have reached an agreement to sign SCO Angers defender Jacques Ekomié (23), according to a report from Foot Mercato.
L’Équipe announced on Monday that Wrexham faced competition from West Ham United for the full-back; however, they have won the race for Angers defender, also pipping Hamburg to his signature. The agreement between Le Sco and their Welsh counterparts was reached on Tuesday, Foot Mercato understands.
Wrexham outbid HamburgThe value of the transfer has not been revealed by the publication, however, it was reported in L’Équipe that Angers valued their left-back at €10m. In any case, the figure proposed by Wrexham was not matched by Hamburg, who identified Ekomié as a target earlier in the summer.
Since joining the club on a free transfer back in 2024, the Gabon international has made 54 appearances for Le Sco, but he may now have played his last for the Ligue 1 club.
