Yankees announce Wednesday night lineup at Baltimore

As the Yankees' epic struggle for runs continues, Trent Grisham has been something of an offensive oasis.

On Tuesday night at Baltimore, Grisham's third inning solo homer off Shane Baz, and his seventh inning, go-ahead, two-run single off lefty reliever Josh Walker led directly to a 3-1 win vs. the Orioles.

Since the day of MLB's trade deadline (Aug. 3), Grisham is batting .302 (16-for-53) in his last 13 games, with six homers, five doubles and 12 RBI.

And in this extended run of facing right-handed starters, the Yankees are scheduled to draw O's veteran Chris Bassitt (4-4, 5.11 ERA) in Wednesday night's 6:35 p.m. game at Camden Yards.

Grisham has two home runs in 19 career at-bats against Bassitt.

Righty Will Warren (8-6, 4.42 ERA) starts for the Yanks, coming off a four-inning no-decision last Wednesday against the Mariners (five runs, six hits, four walks).

Warren's rotation spot was in jeopardy before Max Fried landed back on the injured list Monday for a second time this year due to an elbow bone bruise.

Carlos Rodon slotted back into the rotation Tuesday, yielding one run in six innings (66 pitches) and getting out of a bases-loaded one-out jam, finishing with a strikeout of Jackson Holliday - thanks to catcher Austin Wells' successful ABS challenge.

Here is the Yankees' Wednesday night lineup:

  1. Trent Grisham, CF
  2. Ben Rice, DH
  3. Luis Garcia Jr., 1B
  4. Heliot Ramos, LF
  5. Jazz Chisholm Jr., 2B
  6. Spencer Jones, RF
  7. Ryan McMahon, 3B
  8. George Lombard Jr., SS
  9. Austin Wells, C
