Yankuba Minteh is “fully committed” to Brighton & Hove Albion despite interest from Liverpool in the summer transfer window.
The Seagulls have reportedly knocked back two bids from the Reds for the winger as Andoni Iraola looks to add more width to his squad.
Liverpool are closing in on a £120 million deal for PSG attacker Bradley Barcola, but they are still looking to add another wide option before Tuesday’s deadline.
It is reported that Liverpool are also looking at Crystal Palace star Ismaila Sarr, though Minteh is evidently a player they would like to sign.
Yankuba Minteh ‘committed’ to Brighton amid Liverpool linksSpeaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of facing Chelsea on Sunday, Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler revealed that the club had spoken with Minteh about his future.
“He is a player for Brighton and at the moment there is nothing else to say,” he said. “I admire from him that when this window is closed that he is fully committed to this club.
“Of course there are always dreams of players and there are some wishes for players but in the end we always need to figure what is best for the club and therefore we had an exchange with him, at the moment he’s definitely a Brighton player, I can’t say anything more so let’s see what happens.”
Asked if there will be any new signings between now and deadline day, Hurzeler responded: “Let’s see what happens.”
The German coach added that he would be happy with his squad if the transfer window closed today. “There’s a minor issue with small injuries but I’m not here to complain, I’m here to find solutions together with my team and that’s what we try to do since day one so yeah, I’m happy with the squad.”
