Stanford is going into its matchup with No. 7 Miami as huge underdogs. Not only did the Hurricanes beat the Cardinal 42-7 last season in Miami, but Stanford played a game against Hawai'i in Week 0 — an impressive 37-27 win — and is on a short week to prepare for one of the best teams in the country.
This will be Miami's first game of the season.
That is part of why the Hurricanes only have two players listed on the injury report this week in DB Ja'Boree Antoine and TE Luka Gilbert, both of whom are listed as out.
Meanwhile, Stanford's injury report is extensive.

The good news here is that wide receivers High and Brown could be available in this matchup, which would provide quarterback Davis Warren with two players that were expected to be big-time playmakers for him heading into the season. Neither played against Hawai'i, and he still threw for over 300 yards.
Pale and Prongos were also unavailable on Saturday, but could end up seeing some time in this one. Jay Green played in Stanford's first game and limited Rainbow Warrior receivers to three catches for 26 yards.
The key losses for the Cardinal are Kaminski, who was flying around the field and transfer center Aidan Kilstrom, who was seen as the key to revitalizing the Cardinal offensive line this season.
Now Fisher Anderson will be back in the role he held last season as long as Kilstrom is out. Given that the broadcast cut to commercial when he went down and Kilstrom had to be carted to the back, there is a possibility this is an extended absence.
At Monday's weekly presser, head coach Tavita Pritchard said that with any injury, this program will have to adopt a 'next man up' mentality. Their first test will be Miami.
