The Cleveland Browns are not expected to contend for much in 2026 besides a top-five pick in the 2027 NFL Draft. Despite the season seemingly being lost before it begins, there's reason to be optimistic.
CBS Sports' JP Acosta looked at teams that aren't contenders in 2026 and gave reasons to be optimistic. For the Browns, he focused on the youth the roster boasts on both sides of the ball.
Acosta writes, "Stop me if you've heard this before: the Browns might be bad, but their young guys are talented and can be built around. I know we've been on this ride before with Cleveland, but the biggest reason for hope on a team with one of the worst QB battles in the league is that all of their prized young guys are going to play significant reps."
Both offense and defense are going to see a lot of playing time, and with that comes development. On offense, the rookie class will look to take a leap for any potential quarterback that comes in next year. On defense, they will look to continue an upward trend for the unit despite their loss of Myles Garrett.
It is always said in Cleveland to be optimistic about the youth, but Andrew Berry has built a roster worth some emotional investment, it seems.
