Lil Yachty has reportedly been training for months ahead of his first WWE match, with new details revealing the wrestlers and fitness professionals helping him prepare.
The rapper will face United States Champion Baron Corbin at Sunday Night’s Main Event on September 6, with a five-minute survival stipulation attached to the bout. If Yachty lasts the full five minutes, Trick Williams will earn another shot at Corbin’s title later that night.
Yachty is no stranger to WWE, having formed an alliance with Williams around WrestleMania 42. The rapper has also been a lifelong wrestling fan and reportedly turned down the idea of simply making a one-off appearance.

According to Alvarez, the musician has been training with WWE star Ivy Nile and her husband, fitness instructor Ari Levy. Yachty has also been working at the WWE Performance Center ahead of his first match.
Alvarez wrote: ‘Lil’ Yachty has been training for months with Ivy Nile and her husband.’
That preparation could be particularly important given the task waiting for him in the ring.
Yachty does not need to defeat Corbin to help Williams. He simply has to survive for five minutes against the United States Champion, with Williams’ next title opportunity depending on it.
Corbin has held the United States Championship since defeating Williams at SummerSlam on August 2. He has since successfully defended the title against Williams and Carmelo Hayes on SmackDown, alongside several defences at WWE live events.
WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H has already made the unusual nature of the challenge clear, writing: ‘It’s not about having your first match. It’s about survival.’
Now Yachty’s months of preparation will be put to the test when he finally steps into the ring with Corbin on September 6.
