4 Falcons UDFAs who could clinch roster spots vs. Dolphins

The Atlanta Falcons have arrived in Miami for their preseason finale against the Dolphins and there's a lot at stake for Kevin Stefanski and his staff. While Tua Tagovailoa facing his former team is among the top storylines, the game is even more important for those players on the roster bubble.

The NFL's 53-man roster deadline is just two days away, meaning Friday's exhibition will be several players' final chance to make the team (whether in Atlanta or somewhere else).

With that in mind, let's check out four undrafted free agents who could clinch a roster spot with a big game in the Falcons' preseason finale against the Dolphins.

Jack Strand has gone from a relative unknown prospect to a mythical figure in the span of about a week. However, the former MSU-Moorhead standout's play has warranted the attention. Strand threw the ball all over the field in his 12-for-17, 212-yard performance against the Cols last weekend. Atlanta's quarterback struggles have been well-documented, but with Michael Penix Jr. out for Friday's game, Strand will have every chance to show Kevin Stefanski and company he deserves to be the third quarterback on the roster.

Allen should benefit from playing a position that the Falcons don't have much depth at. The undrafted free agent turned heads during the team's joint practices with the Colts last week, and had two tackles and one TFL in Saturday's 34-6 victory. The Falcons need quality reps along the interior of their defensive line, and if Allen can provide them, he should make the team's initial 53-man roster.

Anthony, the former Wisconsin Baders standout, has impressed with his return skills throughout training camp. Quite simply, there was a reason why the Falcons signed him with a guaranteed $260,000 after the 2026 NFL Draft. In his preseason debut, Anthony averaged 30 yards on three kick returns for 90 yards. Last week against the Colts, he had one return for 28 yards, while adding four catches for 43 receiving yards. Special teams play is often overlooked, but coaches don't miss anything on film.

DeWalt seemed to be a long shot to make the roster early in camp due to the team's log-jam at cornerback. While his fate is still up in the air, DeWalt has played himself firmly onto the bubble with impressive performances in the preseason. The former Akron standout has good size and impressive ball skills. During his final season in college, DeWalt had two interceptions, eight passes defended and one forced fumble. If he can put together another big game against the Dolphins, DeWalt may very well make the roster.
