FNB Stadium in Pittsburgh will host the inaugural 412 Football Classic in October.
The three-night event will feature six Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League high school football teams competing on the South Shore stage, marking football’s return to the stadium for the first time since 2018.
While primarily the home of the USL champion Pittsburgh Riverhounds, the venue has previously hosted WPIAL football games, the Pittsburgh Passion women’s football team and the University of Pittsburgh’s Spring Game in 2015.
“We’re excited to open the doors of FNB Stadium to these teams and give players, coaches and fans the opportunity to experience their games on a professional stage,” said Jeff Garner, president of FNB Stadium and Riverhounds Sports Group. “One of the things that makes this venue special is its ability to bring people together for experiences beyond our regular soccer events. We want the 412 Football Classic to become an annual tradition, giving Western Pennsylvania high school teams the chance to create some great memories at a truly unique venue.”
The three-night showcase begins Thursday, Oct. 15, with a non-conference matchup between Neshannock and North Catholic.
On Friday, Oct. 16, Penn Hills will face Moon in a Class 5A Northeast Conference game.
The event concludes Saturday, Oct. 17, with a Class 3A Western Hills Conference clash between Hopewell and Our Lady of the Sacred Heart.
All three contests are scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m.
Tickets for the showcase are available through Ticketmaster and the Riverhounds website.
