Arizona Cardinals release Trey Benson with injury designation

The Arizona Cardinals have waived former third round pick Trey Benson per Adam Schefter.

Cardinals also Waived/Injured running back Trey Benson.

Benson has struggled to stay healthy in his two seasons in the NFL and then the Arizona Cardinals spent an absurd amount of resources this offseason to fix the issues with the running back room.

Now, the Cardinals have one less decision to make, and the fact that Bam Knight didn’t play on Saturday makes even more sense.

Benson in his career has 451 yards rushing and one touchdown 91 carries, to go with 123 yards on 19 receptions in his career.

With Jeremiyah Love, Tyler Allgeier and the unknown of Benson’s health, it makes sense that he is now gone.

Unfortunately it did not work out for Benson in his career, but we wish him nothing but the best moving forward and hope he can stay healthy in his next stop.
