The Atlanta Braves are currently in jeopardy of being swept by the Milwaukee Brewers this weekend.
The series between the Braves and Brewers will wrap up with the Little League Classic, which takes place Sunday night in Williamsport, PA. This past week has not been kind to the Braves, who have lost five of their last seven games and are watching their divisional lead dwindle by each passing day.
However, with that being said, Atlanta may soon receive pitching reinforcements in the form of Reynaldo Lopez.

Per MLB.com’s transactions tracker, Reynaldo Lopez is headed for a rehab assignment with AAA Gwinnett on August 23.
After their series with the Brewers concludes, Atlanta will head home to face another tough opponent in the Los Angeles Dodgers, but if all goes well with Lopez’s rehab stint, which could be just one or two outings, he may be activated against the Dodgers.
The Gwinnett Stripers website made the formal announcement by writing:
“The Gwinnett Stripers, in conjunction with the Atlanta Braves, have announced that right-hander Reynaldo Lopez will join the Stripers to begin a rehab assignment on Sunday, August 23. That day is the finale of a six-game series vs. the Durham Bulls at Gwinnett Field.”
Lopez has been on the 15-day IL dealing with left knee inflammation, but has been a fairly productive pitcher for Atlanta this season.
