From Socceroos to soccer-moves, the World Cup has launched Australia’s top footballers into the transfer vortex, highlighted by this week’s expected signings of Nestory Irankunda and Lucas Herrington at major European clubs.

At just 18, Herrington is set to confirm a move to Premier League returnees Hull City from Colorado Rapids in a deal that could eclipse the transfer record for an Australian. The current mark is $38.3m, paid by Leicester to Stoke for Harry Souttar in 2023.
