A recent losing streak has put a damper on the Dallas Wings' playoff hopes — but as things stand, thanks to their elite backcourt depth, the squad will have a chance to make a return to the postseason for the first time since 2023.

Paige Bueckers ranks among the WNBA leaders in scoring, while Arike Ogunbowale remains one of the league's best all-around guards. The addition of Azzi Fudd, the No. 1 pick out of UConn, has only made Dallas more dynamic.

However, Fudd, in the middle of a solid rookie campaign, was ruled out for the Wings' matchup vs. the Tempo on Wednesday.

Here's the latest on Fudd's injury and when she could return.

Azzi Fudd injury updates

Fudd was first ruled out by the Wings for Friday's game vs. Golden State with a knee issue. She has missed two games since — but after returning to practice in full capacity, she was listed as questionable for Wednesday's game vs. Toronto.

The Wings said on Aug. 7 that Fudd "experienced right knee soreness" while going through warmups, and she hasn't played since. The team called the move precautionary at the time.

As of Tuesday, Fudd was a "full participant" in practice, knocking down shots on the floor, per Drake Keeler. But ultimately, that wasn't enough to officially return.

Fudd was once again listed as out against the Valkyries on Wednesday, meaning she'll miss her third-straight game.

With Dallas dropping both of its games without Fudd and going just 1-5 over the last two weeks, the team could surely use her return as soon as possible.
