Boot Camp: Prairie Central welcomes back head coach Andrew Quane

FAIRBURY, Ill. (WMBD) -- Prairie Central boasts a large roster this year with 70 players in the program, however they return zero starters on offense.

That's a tough task for head coach Andrew Quane, who's back after stepping away for the past three years. Before that he was with the team for 20 years, having held the heading coaching role from 2019-2022. He's excited to be back and his young Hawks squad, which is headlined by lineman Nick Adams, receiver and corner Tatum Creek, and fullback Kinser Benjamin already have high praise for their coach.

"It's amazing, he gets us very close (to each other)," said Kinser. "He's not just making us better as football players, he's making us better as men. I think he's the best coach we have in the conference right now. He's a hall of fame coach."

"What I missed most about coaching was the fun moments between plays, the jokes, the laughs, the funny stories that you have, the amazing plays that kids make that you get to reminisce about," said Quane. "You know, I love the players, I love being around the players, and I'm happy to be back with them."
