Borussia Mönchengladbach defender Nico Elvedi has reportedly reached a basic agreement with Leeds United as the Swiss international pushes for a move to the Premier League. Sky Germany, as relayed by Kicker, reports Elvedi has agreed personal terms with Leeds on a contract through 2029.
The 29-year-old has decided that he would like to make the move to England should the two clubs find an agreement. No formal offer has yet reached Gladbach, however, and there are presently no concrete club-to-club negotiations. Leeds are reportedly preparing an opening bid that could arrive shortly.
Gladbach are known to be willing to discuss a sale for an appropriate fee. Elvedi remains under contract through 2027, placing the Bundesliga club in a position where a lucrative summer transfer could make financial sense rather than allowing the defender to enter the final year of his deal next summer.
