Before the full NBA schedule releases Thursday, a few matchups have been revealed throughout the league. For the Charlotte Hornets, they've found out their schedule for the Group Stage of the 2026-27 NBA Cup.
Charlotte will be guaranteed four matchups, two home and two away. Their first NBA Cup game will come October 30 on the road against the Washington Wizards. They'll face the Boston Celtics at Spectrum Center November 6, one week later. The Hornets will then have two weeks off of NBA Cup play before another road matchup against a Southeast Division rival November 20, as Charlotte takes on Atlanta. Finally, to finish out group play, the Hornets will host the Chicago Bulls five days later. None of these games will be nationally televised.
Last season, Charlotte was unable to get out of the group stage, having gone 1-3. Only eight teams advance to a single-elimination bracket, four from each conference. The New York Knicks won the NBA Cup last season against the San Antonio Spurs, which ended up being a preview of the 2025-26 NBA Finals.
