With Borussia Dortmund on the verge of submitting an offer of €55m including bonuses to Cologne for Said El Mala, according to Florian Plettenberg, the Billy Goats are working on a replacement for their prized asset.
As reported by Sport Bild, Cologne have identified Zaglebie Lubin’s Marcel Regula (19), who scored five goals and created a further five in 31 appearances in Poland’s Ekstraklasa last season, in addition to already opening his account this campaign.
Per the report, Cologne sporting director Thomas Kessler has already initiated talks with the youngster’s entourage, and is in contact with the Polish club, who are reportedly under pressure to sell.
