Crosscutters score 12 in series opener with Aberdeen

ABERDEEN, MD(WBRE/WYOU)— The Williamsport Crosscutters were winners on Sunday afternoon 12-3 over the Aberdeen IronBirds.

Three different Crosscutters drove in three runs on Sunday afternoon. Jack Kail, James McCoy, and Matt Williams all had three RBI in the win over the IronBirds. Kail went 2-for-3, adding a walk. McCoy was 2-for-5, hitting his tenth home run of the season. Williams went 3-for-5, also blasting his tenth long ball of the season.

Brandon Scott recorded the win for Williamsport, his first of the year. The lefty pitched 5.0 innings in relief of starter Even Grimes. Scott allowed two earned on four hits and two walks.

Williamsport and Aberdeen continue its three-game series on Monday evening. First pitch at Ripken Stadium in Maryland is set for 7:00pm
