Dave Portnoy does not hold back on DiJonai Carrington: ‘White privilege indeed’

Last time the Indiana Fever met the Chicago Sky on the court, Chicago guard DiJonai Carrington was ejected from the game after a hard foul on Fever guard Sophie Cunningham. While she had the rematch against the Fever circled on her calendar, she ultimately fell flat in that game, and Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy was there to enjoy it.

After the Sky fell in a blowout to the Fever on Sunday night in a game where Carrington had minimal impact, Portnoy took to social media to mock the Chicago guard for “making a fool out of herself.”

Carrington and Sky Fall Flat

After the Aug. 8 game in which Carrington was ejected, the Sky guard circled the rematch with the Fever on her calendar.

“8/23,” she wrote in a post on X, adding a smiley face emoji.

Aug. 23, of course, was the date of Sunday night’s game between the Fever and Sky in Chicago.

That rematch, however, did not go the way she would have hoped.

The Sky suffered a blowout 113-90 loss to Indiana on their home court and Carrington had a rather disappointing game, totaling just seven points in the contest and three rebounds, going just 3-for-11 from the field and 0-3 from three-point range.

Carrington alos struggled on the defensive end of the court as Clark, whom Carrington spent much of the game guarding, went off for 37 points and 10 assists, going 8-for-12 from three-point range.

To make matters worse, Sunday’s loss loss officially eliminated the Sky from playoff contention.

Portnoy Mocks Carrington

Following the game, Portnoy – who is a noted Indiana Fever and Caitlin Clark fan – had some strong words for Carrington, calling her out for “making a fool out of herself.”

He also mocked her for her now-infamous “WHITE PRIVILEGE” social media post.

“DiJonai Carrington’s entire existence is making a fool out of herself at the hands of Caitlin and the Fever,” Portnoy wrote in a post on X. “Caitlin popped her head off and dribbled her like a basketball tonight to the tune of 37 and 10. White privilege indeed.”

Clearly, it was not a good night for Carrington and the Sky, and Portnoy enjoyed it at her expense.
