French defender Mael de Gevigney has left Barnsley after three years to join Danish side Silkeborg IF for an undisclosed fee.
De Gevigney, 26, made 128 appearances for the Tykes, scoring three goals and helping them reach the League One play-offs in his first season in 2023-24.
He told the club website: "I just want to thank everybody at Barnsley who made me feel at home during my three seasons in red - the players, staff, every individual involved in the club and the fans."
Jon Flatman, Barnsley's chief executive, said: "We did not want to stand in Mael's way (...) and we wish him and his family all the best for the future and in the next step of his career."
