Netflix promises going even deeper and hidden spaces of the sport as it confirms Season 9 of Drive to Survive for 2027, covering the regulation change of F1 2026.
Having started the journey back in 2019 with the first season, Netflix has come a long way, whether or not everyone is onboard with it. Over the years, it has been accused of over dramatising of situations, creating rivalries when there is not – much to dismay of ‘hardcore F1 fans’.
There are debates among fans online where a section of fans are now termed as ‘DTS fans’, more to dismiss their idea of following F1. Nevertheless, Netflix has continued its journey completing eight seasons, collecting some awards along the way too in reality documentary.
Drive to Survive has been a success for F1In fact, the success of Drive to Survive has pushed other sports-related behind the scenes shows like for MotoGP, Tennis, NASCAR, Golf, Cycling and more. As such, Netflix will continue its F1 show for Season 9 in 2027 after formal confirmation of the same – having already started with its shoot from pre-season.
It promises to go even deeper and hidden spaces of the sport, covering the ongoing 2026 F1 season, which has seen a massive regulation change, both on the chassis and power unit side. Apart from that, they have an exciting title battle, with young charger Mercedes’ Andrea Kimi Antonelli leading.
Plenty to show about F1 2026More so, he is being chased by the driver who he replaced at Mercedes – Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton. Together with seven-time F1 champion, Antonelli’s own teammate George Russell is also in the game, despite his struggles, while the 2026 champion McLaren’s Lando Norris is fighting back.
In addition, the struggle of Red Bull and Max Verstappen continues plus the arrival of Ford Racing, Audi and Cadillac – Netflix certainly has plenty on offer for the F1 fans in 2027 in Season 9 of Drive to Survive.
